LEATHER

Ever since leather belongs to favoured natural material of mankind. Appropriate treated, it becomes soft and and smooth. It can be manufactured also hard and stiff, according the demand. Any colouration is possible. Bags and fashion accessoires are produced out of various animal skins and dispose over specific textures.
Accordingly pretreated and groomed, leather practically remains water-repellent, is almost resistant against any weather-factor. It is normal, that leather can carry traces of former injuries, the animal experienced during it's life time. The mechanical properties of leather are good, leather is breathable. AMORAI is using high quality leather of established suppliers.

IMITATION LEATHER

Since plastic entered our world, undreamt possibilities opened up also for bag manufacturers and their clients. When properties of natural leather are compared with the properties of artificial leather, no big differences will occur, despite the fact, that artificial leather is cheaper. The industrial production allows an exact reproductibility. Using specific fabrics, artificial leather can reach terrific mechanic properties. Water-/ abrasion-resistance, printability, surface structure are a few more important factors to look upon. AMORAI is using high quality and fashionable artificial leather of established suppliers.

TARPAULIN

Tarpaulins are made of plastics. In daily, hard use on the road, they protect human beings and goods and cope with all conditions - from artic cold to extreme heat. No long ago, tarpaulin was rediscovered for bags, wallets and various fashion accessoires. Combined with other materials, tarpaulin opens up new possibilities in design and colours.
Throug using, tarpaulin has the tendency to micro-cracks on the surface, to folding, is subject to optical aging, e.g. the human skin. This effect is often wanted and we know it from the jeans- industry, where i tis succesfully applied. The micro-cracks do at no time influence or reduce the functionability of the material. Tarpauline wit a colour print on the surface are offering different creative possibilities. When rubbed against body or cloths it is possible that the colour is partially rubbed off.
Like all plastics and also other materials, tarpaulin is subjected to temperature changes. At warmth the material softens tendencially, at coldness the material stiffens. The micro-cracks can occur mainly at lower temperatures.
The mainly young customers appreciate primarily the sturdiness, the absolute water-resistant property of the material, as well as the easy cleaning and trendy colours of tarpauline. AMORAI is using tarpaulin of extra-strong quality made from the leading branded fibres, woven and coated by Europe's top producers.

AWNING FABRICS

Today awning fabrics are mainly of synthetic material, e.g. of acrylic. In fact they are used for sun protection. They withstand sun and most of them are water-repellent. Becoming wet, bags of awning fabrics should be stored at places where they can dry. Awnings are breathable, have good mechanic strength and an esthetic design. AMORAI uses awning fabrics from the leading manufacturers.

DECKCHAIR FABRICS

Deckchair fabrics are mainly of synthetic materials, or blended fabrics, made of natural and synthetic yarns. Their technical properties are similar to the awning fabrics. In touch with human skin they feel natural, are breathable, they own good mechanic properties. Mainly drafted in stripe decor, also available in single colour, they offer a variety for modern design. AMORAI uses deckchair fabrics from the leading manufacturers.

INSULATION FABRIC

AMORAI is applying insulation fabric, when the use of it makes a sense. Insulation foil can be applied in shopping bags, in health care applications or for protection of industrial goods. To the client it is important to reach a preferable stable temperature inside the bag.
Insulation fabrics have in most cases an aluminium film as outer skin and various layers beneath, according to the requirements, e.g. to keep drinksor food longer cool, to protect ice cream from melting. Baby nutrition must be in contrary protected from the coldness. The insulation fabric applied in bags helps to keep goods wormer or colder, partially it can absorbe smaller shocks. AMORAI is applying high quality insulation fabric from established manufacturers.

MESH

Mesh is a fabric with small holes. The texture is usually of polyester or glass fibre plasticified. The regular puncture allows air and wind to blow through. A solid strength in combination with small weight, makes it to a high performance material. Mesh fabric is especially suitable for sommer- and shopping bags, cases and stylish shoulder-bags. With a print on the surface it can be used in almost any kind of fancy bag. Wet cloths in a bag can dry easily. Mesh fabric should, if possible, not be folded, through material- or colour separation is possible. AMORAI is applying high quality mesh from established manufacturers.

STRAPS, CORDS, ROPES

Shoulder straps and handles belong to the functionally important parts of a bag. The straps, made of natural or synthetic materials are adapted to look of the bag. For heavily loaded straps, or for bags with a special aesthetics AMORAI is using car safety belts, made of polyester. These belts, accepted from the car industry, fulfill the highest requirements on the tensile strength and optics. Beside that, we are using high quality and beautifull coloured polypropylene (PP) belts.
Belts made of polyester (PES) or polyamide (PA) can be mechanically more stressed and are more wear resistant than the ones from polypropylene, but also more expensive. Through using more affordable polypropylene belts, a wider scale of colours is achievable. AMORAI is using high quality straps, cords and ropes made of PP, PES and PA from established manufacturers.

PLASTIC PARTS

The function of those small parts is often underestimated. A bracket- or buckle failure causes in many cases, that a bag becomes worthless or an expensive repair is necessary. For sustaining and high stressed parts AMORAI bags are equipped with polyamide parts, where ever possible. PA 6 is a material with excellent mechanical properties, impact-resistance. Polyamide is a material with better mechanical properties at higher temperatures and even better behaviour at low temperatures, as buckles made of other materials, e.g. polypropylene (PP). AMORAI is using buckles from leading manufacturers.

  • become dappled. Never leave leather goods in humid rooms, hang them on wet walls. Never leave them in plastic bag, so they can not breathe. Store leather dry and on the air.
A periodic cleaning and care of leather goods helps to prevent damages. Seal, impregnate surfaces, if not already done. Use manuals of specific suppliers. Keep leather in clean surroundings.
When soiled, never scrub surface hard, since dirt enters the pores. Instead, slightly dab, remove dirt gently. Work torwards the middle of the mark, so it becomes not bigger. New grease spots eventually bespread with chalk- or magnesium powder, soak up or slightly dab with clean tissue. Leave chalk- powder for a few hours, brush away carefully. Glue or adhesives may be carefully removed with white coloured eraser. Marks of ball pen may be withdrawn, when adhesive tape is pressed onto the mark and slightly taken away. Dab rests of dirt away, use no circulary rub.
Never use solvents like: acetone, nail laquer remover, benzene, when heavily dirty. Use no shoe care or household detergent products. Colour and structure of the leather could become harmed.
All mentioned tips are to be understood as general hints. Depending on the leather character a necessary prevention and cleaning is necessary. Please, get specific informations from supplier of cleansing technology..
